Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Converts testosterone into 5-alpha-dihydrotestosterone and progesterone or corticosterone into their corresponding 5-alpha-3-oxosteroids. It plays a central role in sexual differentiation and androgen physiology.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Ziram inhibited SRD5A1 and AKR1C14 activities, thus possibly interfering with neurosteroid production in rats. PMID: 28707553
  2. Exposure of middle-aged rats to environmental enrichment increased mRNA levels of 5al;pha-reductase-1, 3alpha-HSD and cytochrome P450 17alpha-hydroxylase/c17,20-lyase and decreased the methylation state of the 5alpha-reductase-1 gene PMID: 26021641
  3. Low Srd5a1 expression is associated with benign prostatic hypertrophy. PMID: 23405234
  4. Changes in the expression of steroid 5-alpha reductase isoenzymes in the prostate in response to environmental stress. PMID: 23122426
  5. Tesosterone concentrations during postnatal sexual differentiation of the rat central nervous system, among other sex-dependent factors, influence brain levels of 5alpha-Reductase isozymes in adulthood PMID: 22131296
  6. Elevated levels of 5alpha-reduced androgens seen in hyperinsulinemic conditions might be explained on the basis of a stimulatory effect of insulin on 5alpha-reductase in granulosa cells. PMID: 20810561
  7. Thus, the present results indicate that the vitamin E-induced regulation of SRD5A1 and GCLM in rat liver is not directly mediated by changes in promoter DNA methylation. PMID: 20447326
  8. 5 alpha-R1 immunostaining was detected mainly in the white matter (Wm). PMID: 15305365
  9. great sexual dimorphism in the central nervous system (CNS) with respect to both 5alpha-reductase isozymes, and suggest a crucial role of dihydrotestosterone in the sexual dimorphism of the CNS in the female PMID: 16595696
  10. Our results demonstrate that both 5alpha-R isozymes are significantly higher in prefrontal cortex of male rats after acute swim stress in comparison with control rats PMID: 17826869
  11. Our results suggest that 5AR inhibitors elicit antipsychotic-like effects in animals and may be proposed as a putative novel target in the management of psychotic disorders. PMID: 18354385
