Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
High affinity receptor for melatonin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by pertussis toxin sensitive G proteins that inhibits adenylate cyclase activity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. TBI in rats resulted in lower levels of MT1 and MT2; replication of these findings is necessary as is evaluation of the consequences of lower receptor levels. PMID: 28377323
  2. An inhibitory effect of melatonin on oxytocin secretion from the rat hypothalamo-neurohypophysial system is mediated through a subtype MT1 membrane receptor and its action is independent of subtype MT2 receptor. However, for the stimulatory effect of pharmacological concentration of the pineal hormone on oxytocin release, probably mechanisms other than membrane MT1/MT2 receptor(s)-dependent are involved. PMID: 26884304
  3. Suggest MT2 melatonin receptor may be a novel target for analgesic drug development. PMID: 26162699
  4. melatonin MT receptor was expressed in somata, dendrites and axon terminals of rat rod-dominant ON type bipolar cells PMID: 21094224
  5. The present study demonstrates, for the first time, that MT1b receptors are localized and expressed in rat vestibular nuclei. This study provides additional insight into the role of melatonin receptors during vestibular signal processing. PMID: 22055508
  6. From these data we conclude that the MT1 receptor is located on the INS-1 cell and therefore in general on pancreatic beta-cells. PMID: 12153439
  7. Regulation of MT2 melatonin receptors (Mel1B)by physiological concentrations of melatonin mimicking the nocturnal surge. PMID: 15522910
  8. The amount of MT(2) receptor protein in myocardial infarction (MI) left ventricles (LVs) was higher than in sham-operated LVs 1 day (P < 0.05) and 4 wk (P < 0.01) after MI. PMID: 17349023
  9. The rat melatonin receptor 1B (melatonin MT2 receptor)was cloned and the binding affinity for different compounds was compared with the human counterpart. PMID: 18384758
  10. These data suggest that the circulating hormone melatonin, which is predominantly released from the pineal gland in the brain, is involved in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. PMID: 19060908
  11. MT2 is highly expressed in the hypothalamus, lung, kidney, adrenal gland, stomach, and ovary, while MT2 is highly expressed in the hippocampus, kidney, and ovary PMID: 19340560
