Buffer

If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol.

Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition

Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description

CUSABIO expressed and purified the Recombinant Schistosoma mansoni Major egg antigen p40 from E. coli as an N-terminal 6xHis fusion protein. This full-length protein (1-354aa) has a high purity greater than 90%. The protein of the observed size (43-45 kDa) was identified by SDS-PAGE analysis. This recombinant major egg antigen is in-stock and thus allows faster delivery to your lab bench. In addition to being an immunogen for antibody synthesis, the protein may be used in the studies of schistosomiasis.

The Schistosoma mansoni major egg antigen p40 (Smp40) is highly immunogenic in humans. It plays a significant role in impairing the CD4+ Th cell-mediated immune responses such as the granulomatous response to tissue deposited eggs and subsequent fibrosis. This process may prevent or alleviate clinical symptoms of schistosomiasis. Furthermore, Smp40 is a promising candidate for developing an anti-pathology schistosomal vaccine.
