Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Acts specifically as a negative regulator of skeletal muscle growth.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Data show that disruption of the myostatin (MSTN) gene resulted in the desired muscle hypertrophy. PMID: 27562433
  2. The effect of these SNPs on growth and carcass traits was investigated in 357 New Zealand Romney lambs in addition to 2 previously identified SNPs, c.-2379C was associated with increased birthweight, tailing weight and weaning weight. PMID: 26081604
  3. We determined the efficiency of the CRISPR/Cas9 system to edit MSTN in sheep and generate knock-out (KO) animals with the aim to promote muscle development and body growth PMID: 26305800
  4. Data show that Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1) expression was significantly or and positively correlated with (MSTN) and myogenin (MyoG) at 2 days old, 2 and 6 months old. PMID: 25966090
  5. we demonstrate zygote injection of TALEN mRNA can also produce gene-edited cattle and sheep. In both species we have targeted the myostatin (MSTN) gene. PMID: 25204701
  6. The mRNA expression levels of MSTN, IGF-1 and IGF-2 were significantly different in the same skeletal muscle under different dietary intake. PMID: 25078581
  7. Silencing of myostatin using shRNA may provide a feasible approach to improve meat productivity in farm animals PMID: 24052475
  8. myostatin splice variant represents a unique example of intra-genic regulation in which a splice variant directly antagonizes the biological activity of the canonical gene product PMID: 24312578
  9. CAST and GDF-8 genes are associated with lower values of lamb meat tenderness and is related to the stage of muscular growth and development. PMID: 24338411
  10. The myostatin g+6723G>A mutation did not affect sensory meat quality traits of grilled steaks for the longissimus lumborum muscle, but resulted in a significant improvement in eating quality for the semimembranosus muscle. PMID: 23680643
  11. shRNAs targeting MSTN were expressed in muscles of transgenic sheep. MSTN expression was inhibited in muscle tissues of transgenics compared with controls. Moreover, transgenic sheep showed a tendency to faster increase in body weight than control sheep. PMID: 23526994
  12. Polymorphism in the ovine myostatin gene is associated with birth weight, but not with weight gain in Iranian Makoei sheep. PMID: 23096682
  13. these results demonstrate that MSTN plays critical role in myoblast differentiation in sheep, analogous to that in mice. PMID: 22580276
  14. Studied myostatin silencing in sheep fetal fibroblasts using Sleeping Beauty transposon. PMID: 21698446
  15. Two and four polymorphic loci of MSTN gene were revealed in the 5'UTR and intron I PMID: 21323579
  16. The recent progress in mapping quantitative trait nucleotides (QTNs) are reviewed, including the ABCG2 gene mutation that underlies a QTL for fat and protein content and the ovine MSTN gene mutation that causes muscular hypertrophy in Texel sheep. PMID: 20720303
  17. 3'UTR g+6223G-->A mutation operates by promoting RNA-Induced Silencing Complex-dependent down-regulation of myostatin (MSTN) in skeletal muscle of Texel sheep. PMID: 20679369
  18. Two myostatin mutations were found to reduce fatness and increase muscle mass, although the effect of the frameshift mutation (c.960delG) was more important as compared to the 3'-UTR mutation (c.2360G>A). PMID: 20113462
  19. These results suggest that variation in ovine MSTN is associated with meat production, but not birth weight or growth rate in New Zealand Romney sheep. PMID: 19799595
  20. A QTL affecting muscle and fat traits exists within the New Zealand Texel population and it maps to the region of GDF8 on OAR2. PMID: 16100053
  21. The results showed that E-box (E) 3, E4, E5 and E7, particularly E3, E5 and E7, had important effects on the activity of the 1.2 kb sheep myostatin promoter. PMID: 17669271
  22. The detection of three alleles and the identification of sequence variation in the ovine GDF8 coding region is reported. PMID: 17935943
  23. Two SNPs in GDF8 are associated with greater muscle depth in Charollais sheep. PMID: 18462481
  24. distribution of 3 genotypes in 11 sheep breeds was significantly different PMID: 19073574
  25. The results provide evidence that the g+6723G-A transition in GDF8 is the underlying SNP for the QTL affecting muscling previously identified in the New Zealand Texel sheep population. PMID: 19251921
