  • Overlay Peak curve showing Hela cells stained with CSB-RA124214A0MO (red line) at 1:100. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde and permeated by 0.2% TritonX-100 for 10min. Then 10% normal goat serum to block non-specific protein-protein interactions followed by the antibody (1ug/1*106cells) for 45min at 4℃. The secondary antibody used was FITC-conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) at 1/200 dilution for 35min at 4℃.Control antibody (green line) was Rabbit IgG (1ug/1*106cells) used under the same conditions. Acquisition of >10,000 events was performed.

Target Background

Function
Involved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Cleaves and activates sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs). Overexpression promotes programmed cell death. Cleaves phospholipid scramblase proteins XKR4, XKR8 and XKR9.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Caspase 7 has a nonapoptic function that participates in normal spermatogenesis, but also displays apoptotic function in spermatogenic dysfunction. PMID: 26643564
  2. Our study shows for the first time activated caspase-7 in hair follicles and mast cells and indicates its non-apoptotic roles in the skin. PMID: 26253163
  3. Optic nerve crush activated caspase-7 in retinal ganglion cells followed by cell death. Knockout of caspase-7 partially and significantly protected against ON injury-induced RGC loss. PMID: 26306916
  4. genetic loss of caspase-7 promotes solar-simulated light-induced skin carcinogenesis by blocking caspase-7-mediated cleavage of keratin-17. PMID: 26271098
  5. In vitro, with application of specific inhibitors and siRNA, AND-induced apoptosis was proven through ROS-ERK-P53-caspase 7-PARP signaling pathway PMID: 25162007
  6. The scotopic electroretinography demonstrated that the ablation of the CASP7 in T17M RHO retina leads to significant preservation of the function of photoreceptors compared to controls. PMID: 24664731
  7. Data suggest that caspase-7 might be directly involved in functional cell differentiation and regulation of the mineralization of dental matrices. PMID: 23713787
  8. The results indicate a non-essential apoptotic role of caspase-7 in the PEK apoptosis but suggest also possible non-apoptotic functions for caspase-7 in tooth development. PMID: 22858065
  9. host activation of caspase-7 in response to pore formation represents an adaptive mechanism by which host cells can protect membrane integrity during Listeria monocytogenes infection PMID: 22807671
  10. An apoptosis-independent regulatory role for caspase 7-mediated PARP1 cleavage in proinflammatory gene expression is discussed. PMID: 22464733
  11. Our findings demonstrate for the first time a strong correlation between caspase-7 activity, normal brain development, and apoptotic DNA fragmentation in Casp3-/- mice. PMID: 15525783
  12. Our results show that in contrast to dermal fibroblasts and cortical neurons, sympathetic neurons express no detectable levels of caspase-7. PMID: 16932756
  13. proteolytic processing of ataxin-7 by caspase-7 may contribute to SCA7 disease pathogenesis PMID: 17646170
  14. Caspase-7 was activated in the splenocytes of LPS-injected mice. CASP-7-deficient mice resist LPS-induced lymphocyte apoptosis & are protected from LPS-induced lethality independently of the excessive production of serum cytokines. PMID: 19168786
  15. results reveal a new mechanism for caspase-7 activation downstream of the Nlrc4 inflammasome and present a novel biological role for caspase-7 in host defense against Legionella pneumophila PMID: 19343209
  16. In mid-gestational wounds, activation of apoptotic pathways may be mediated through effector caspase 7 signals with inactivation of PARP. PMID: 19555972
