To yield the ACAA2 polyclonal antibody, the recombinant human ACAA2 protein (188-257aa) is used to immunize a rabbit. The rabbit's immune system will recognize the immunogen as foreign and produce antibodies against it. After several rounds of immunization, blood is collected from the rabbit and the serum is isolated. The ACAA2 polyclonal antibodies are purified from the rabbit's serum using protein G affinity chromatography. The purity of this ACAA2 antibody is over 95%. This ACAA2 antibody can be used to detect human, mouse, and rat ACAA2 proteins in multiple applications, including ELISA, WB, IHC, IF, and IP.
The ACAA2 protein is an enzyme involved in fatty acid metabolism. Its main function is to catalyze the final step in the beta-oxidation of fatty acids. This is a process by which the body breaks down fatty acids for energy production, particularly during periods of fasting or prolonged exercise when glucose levels are low. ACAA2 also plays a role in the regulation of lipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity. Mutations in the ACAA2 gene can lead to metabolic disorders, such as obesity and insulin resistance.
