  • IHC image of CSB-PA875681LA01HU diluted at 1:1000 and staining in paraffin-embedded human colon cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.

The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).

Description

The product CSB-PA875681LA01HU is a polyclonal antibody raised in the rabbit against a partial recombinant protein corresponding to 69-158 amino acids of human XKR8 protein. It exists as the unconjugated IgG isoform. It only reacts with human samples. This XKR8 antibody was purified by protein G affinity chromatography with a purity of up to 95%. And it has tested its specificity and reliability in ELISA, WB, IHC, and IF applications.

Its target protein XKR8 appears to play a role in cellular adhesion, migration, invasion, and survival. Its interactions with key regulators of these processes suggest that it may have important implications for the development and progression of cancer and other diseases.

Function
Phospholipid scramblase that promotes phosphatidylserine exposure on apoptotic cell surface. Phosphatidylserine is a specific marker only present at the surface of apoptotic cells and acts as a specific signal for engulfment. Required for the clearance of apoptotic cells, such as engulfment of apoptotic germ cells by Sertoli cells, clearance of senescent neutrophils or regulation of bipolar cell numbers in the retina. Has no effect on calcium-induced exposure of phosphatidylserine. Promotes myoblast differentiation and survival.; (Microbial infection) Incorporated into Ebola virus-like particles, where its phospholipid scramblase activity is required to promote phosphatidylserine exposure on the surface of viral particles. Externalization of phosphatidylserine on the surface of viral particles is required for uptake by host cells.
