Description

CUSABIO introduced the recombinant Coxiella burnetii (strain RSA 493 / Nine Mile phase I) CH60 protein into a rabbit to stimulate antibody production against this specific antigen. To enhance antibody production, a booster injection was administered. The resulting CH60 polyclonal antibodies in the rabbit's serum were collected and purified using protein A/G. Rigorous testing in ELISA and WB assays has verified the CH60 antibody's recognition of Coxiella burnetii (strain RSA 493 / Nine Mile phase I) CH60 protein.

The Coxiella burnetii CH60 protein, also known as HSP60, is involved in the folding of newly synthesized proteins, refolding of misfolded proteins, and assembly/disassembly of protein complexes. HSP60 proteins are a class of molecular chaperones that are involved in maintaining protein homeostasis within the cell. Additionally, HSP60 proteins play a role in cellular stress response and are involved in various cellular processes, including antigen presentation and immune response regulation.

Target Background

Function
Together with its co-chaperonin GroES, plays an essential role in assisting protein folding. The GroEL-GroES system forms a nano-cage that allows encapsulation of the non-native substrate proteins and provides a physical environment optimized to promote and accelerate protein folding.
