Description

The rabbit is immunized with the recombinant Zea mays (Maize) CHIB protein, which stimulates an immune response. When enough antibodies have been generated, a rabbit serum sample is collected to obtain the polyclonal antibodies. The collected serum, which contains the Endochitinase B antibody, is then subjected to protein A/G affinity chromatography. The effectiveness of the Endochitinase B antibody is assessed through ELISA and WB applications. This antibody is capable of specifically detecting the Zea mays (Maize) Endochitinase B protein.

The Zea mays (Maize) Endochitinase B, also known as chitinase B (CHIB), mainly functions to break down chitin, a structural component found in the cell walls of fungi and insects. This enzyme plays a role in the plant's defense mechanism against fungal and insect attacks. By degrading chitin, endochitinase B helps to inhibit the growth and development of pathogens, thereby protecting the maize plant from potential damage.
