Description

The csgD polyclonal antibody is derived from a rabbit immunized with the recombinant Salmonella typhimurium (strain LT2 / SGSC1412 / ATCC 700720) csgD protein (1-216aa). The csgD antibody is collected and purified from the rabbit serum through protein G affinity chromatography. The efficacy of the csgD antibody in detecting Salmonella typhimurium (strain LT2 / SGSC1412 / ATCC 700720) csgD protein is assessed through ELISA and WB assays.

The csgD protein in Salmonella typhimurium acts as a transcription factor, activating the expression of genes involved in curli fimbriae production. It promotes the transition of bacterial cells from a planktonic state to a biofilm-forming state, allowing the bacteria to adhere to surfaces and form structured communities.

Target Background

Function
Necessary for transcription of the csgAB operon. May have the capability to respond to starvation and/or high cell density by activating csgBA transcription.
