Target Background

Function
Catalyzes site-specific recombination between two 34-base-pair LOXP sites. Its role is to maintain the phage genome as a monomeric unit-copy plasmid in the lysogenic state.
Gene References into Functions
  1. This study demonstrates that Col6a1-Cre driver mice are as useful as Twist2-Cre driver mice for functional analyses of GALT-resident mesenchymal cells, including MCi cells. PMID: 28882590
  2. Cre-recombinase in aP2-Cre mice, showed strong Cre activity in the dorsal hindbrain region and vertebrae of E12.5 embryos. PMID: 22150821
  3. Cre-mediated synapsis of loxP sites occurs with a high affinity and is pH-dependent; the crystal structures of a pre-cleavage Cre-loxP synaptic complex in a configuration representing the starting point in the recombination pathway were determined PMID: 17573343
  4. The GnRH-CRETeR mouse can be used to study genes that may have distinct roles in reproductive physiology during the various developmental stages. PMID: 18445125
