Description

The polyclonal antibody specific to ompX is generated by immunizing a rabbit with the recombinant ompX protein (24-171aa) from the Escherichia coli O157:H7. The ompX antibody is collected from the rabbit serum and undergoes purification using protein G. This purified ompX antibody is well-suited for detecting the ompX protein of Escherichia coli O157:H7 in ELISA and WB applications.

The OmpX protein of Escherichia coli O157:H7 is an outer membrane protein that plays a role in the maintenance of cell envelope integrity and bacterial virulence. It is involved in the regulation of the bacterial cell wall and is also thought to be involved in the transport of nutrients and other molecules across the outer membrane. Additionally, OmpX has been shown to be involved in the adhesion of E. coli O157:H7 to host cells, which is an important step in the pathogenesis of this bacterium.
