Description

This ELISA kit provides quantitative measurement of thrombopoietin (THPO) in mouse serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates, supporting cardiovascular and hematopoietic research. Because circulating THPO levels fluctuate in response to platelet consumption, megakaryocyte mass, and vascular injury, accurate quantification across both systemic and tissue-level compartments is essential for interpreting thrombotic and cardiovascular phenotypes.

Detection Range: The 31.25–2000 pg/mL range captures both baseline murine THPO concentrations and the elevated levels observed during thrombocytopenia or myelosuppressive states. Most unstimulated mouse serum samples fall within this window without dilution, though samples from severely thrombocytopenic models may require verification at the upper boundary.

Sensitivity: At 15.6 pg/mL, the kit detects THPO in conditions where platelet counts are normal or elevated and circulating THPO is consequently low — critical for distinguishing subtle regulatory shifts in steady-state thrombopoiesis.

Sample Compatibility: Validation across serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates allows researchers to correlate systemic THPO levels with local production in liver or bone marrow, enabling organ-specific pathway analysis in cardiovascular injury models.

Assay Efficiency: The 1–5 hour protocol and 50–100 µL sample volume accommodate serial bleeding designs in mice, where plasma yield per draw is inherently limited.
