Because porcine IFN-γ concentrations can vary dramatically between baseline and immune-activated states — often spanning two orders of magnitude — this kit is designed to capture that full dynamic range within a single assay run.
Detection Range: The 6.25–400 pg/mL range covers both moderate constitutive IFN-γ levels in healthy pig serum and the elevated concentrations observed during active infection or post-vaccination recall responses, minimizing the need for serial dilutions across experimental groups.
Sensitivity: At 3.12 pg/mL, the kit detects the low-level IFN-γ secretion typical of unstimulated PBMC cultures, early innate responses, or subclinically infected animals where cytokine output has not yet peaked.
Sample Compatibility: Validation across serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates enables researchers to correlate systemic IFN-γ responses with localized production at infection sites — critical for mucosal immunology and vaccine challenge studies in pigs.
Assay Efficiency: The 1–5 hour protocol and 50–100 µL sample volume accommodate limited-volume collections from piglets and support same-day processing of multi-timepoint kinetic studies.
