 Q&A
Q:

My samples are hemolyzed....could it be any problem with this samples when using the kits?

A:
Thanks for your inquiry. Serious hemolysis is not suitable for testing. You need to re-collect the samples.
If it is slightly hemolyzed, the impact is small and the samples can be used.
The sensitivity of this kit is relatively good, but we still advice you to use dual-wavelength detection to eliminate the impact.

Target Background

Function
(From Uniprot)
Participates in the reverse transport of cholesterol from tissues to the liver for excretion by promoting cholesterol efflux from tissues and by acting as a cofactor for the lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT). As part of the SPAP complex, activates spermatozoa motility.
Gene References into Functions
  1. both the route of administration and the formulation of apoA-I peptide significantly affect its pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. PMID: 27881716
  2. ABCA1 is diminished and ABCG1 is increased by N-acetylcysteine, which counteracts the reduction in apo A-I-mediated cholesterol efflux PMID: 25305669
  3. Apolipoprotein A-I induces tubulin phosphorylation in association with cholesterol release in fetal rat astrocytes. PMID: 24814947
  4. ApoA-I may be a protective blood-borne factor involved in the remote ischemic preconditioning mechanism. PMID: 24155931
  5. It maintains cholesterol homeostasis. PMID: 24117066
  6. on neonatal rat ventricular cardiomyocytes, the aldosterone-dependent chronotropic effects of antiapoA-1 IgG involve the nongenomic activation of L-type calcium channels PMID: 22253414
  7. translocation of cholesterol and phospholipid into the cytosol is related to the apo A-I-mediated HDL assembly in astrocytes through functional association with caveolin-1 and a cyclosporin A-sensitive cyclophilin protein(s). PMID: 11773045
  8. ABCA1-dependent cholesterol mobilization to apoA-I increased new cholesterol synthesis, indicating depletion of the regulatory pool of hepatocyte cholesterol during HDL formation PMID: 14993246
  9. The association of CLPP with microtubules is mediated by caveolin-1, induced by apoA-I and regulates intracellular cholesterol trafficking for assembly of cellular lipids to apoA-I-HDL. PMID: 16606364
  10. Data show that a complex of apolipoprotein A-I and pregnenolone modulate the rate of protein biosynthesis in liver cells. PMID: 18457017
  11. ApoA-I reduced I/R-induced inflammatory responses, decreased renal microscopic damage and improved renal function. ApoA-I protects kidney from I/R injury by inhibiting inflammatory cytokines release and neutrophil infiltration and activation. PMID: 18535924
