IL-16 functions as a chemoattractant cytokine for CD4⁺ T cells, monocytes, and eosinophils, making it a critical tool for dissecting immune cell migration and inflammatory signaling in nonhuman primate models. This tag-free recombinant rhesus macaque IL-16 encompasses the full mature protein (residues 510–630) and demonstrates confirmed biological activity in a T lymphocyte chemotaxis bioassay at concentrations of 1.0–100 ng/mL, providing a suitable basis for chemotaxis/migration assays, CD4⁺ T cell activation studies, and investigation of downstream MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways. The protein's endotoxin level of less than 1.0 EU/μg satisfies the stringent criteria needed to prevent LPS-driven artifacts in sensitive immune cell functional assays, while its >98% purity by SDS-PAGE supports use as a reliable reference standard in cytokine detection assays, a positive control for ELISA or Western blot validation, or an immunogen for antibody development targeting cross-reactive IL-16 epitopes.
