CUSABIO generated hybridomas by fusing myeloma cells with B cells isolated from mice that were immunized with the recombinant Enterobacteria phage M13 attachment protein (19-424aa). After careful selection, CUSABIO obtained the Enterobacteria phage M13 III monoclonal antibody-secreting hybridomas, which were cultured to harvest the Enterobacteria phage M13 III monoclonal antibody. This antibody exhibits high specificity towards the Enterobacteria phage M13 species, making it ideal for use in ELISA and WB applications. It has been purified using protein G affinity chromatography, resulting in a purity of over 95%.
The Enterobacteria phage M13 Attachment protein (pIII) is a protein that functions as a virion protein for the M13 bacteriophage. It is responsible for attaching the phage to the host cell's pilus during the infection process. Specifically, the pIII protein binds to the F pilus on the surface of the bacterial host cell, which triggers the phage to insert its genome into the host cell. It plays a crucial role in the initial stages of the M13 phage infection process.
