After being immunized with the recombinant Enterobacteria phage M13 attachment protein (19-424aa), the mouse was processed to isolate B cells, which were fused with myeloma cells, resulting in hybridomas that produce the Enterobacteria phage M13 III antibody. The selected hybridomas that produce the desired antibodies were cultured in the mouse abdominal cavity, and the Enterobacteria phage M13 III monoclonal antibody was extracted from the mouse ascites. This resulting Enterobacteria phage M13 III monoclonal antibody specifically binds to Enterobacteria phage M13 species and is suitable for ELISA and WB applications. The Enterobacteria phage M13 III monoclonal antibody is purified using protein G affinity chromatography with a purity exceeding 95%.
The main function of Enterobacteria phage M13 attachment protein, also known as pIII protein, is to facilitate the attachment of the phage to the bacterial host cell during the infection process. The pIII protein interacts with specific bacterial receptors on the cell surface, allowing the phage to attach and inject its genetic material into the host cell.
