Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition

Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description

Hepatocyte growth factor orchestrates cell proliferation, motility, and morphogenesis through high-affinity engagement of the MET receptor, making it a critical regulator in tissue regeneration and tumor invasion studies. This full-length mature protein (aa 32–730) demonstrates robust receptor-binding activity with an EC50 of 2.471–2.843 ng/mL against human MET in functional ELISA and a KD of 0.643 nM by surface plasmon resonance, providing quantitative benchmarks for receptor-ligand binding assays, competition studies, and antibody characterization workflows. Mammalian cell expression preserves native glycosylation patterns essential for optimal MET activation, supporting its use in cell proliferation and survival assays, stem cell differentiation protocols, and wound healing or angiogenesis models where physiological HGF signaling is required. The protein meets quality thresholds commonly expected for these applications, with >95% purity by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg.

Potent mitogen for mature parenchymal hepatocyte cells, seems to be a hepatotrophic factor, and acts as a growth factor for a broad spectrum of tissues and cell types. Activating ligand for the receptor tyrosine kinase MET by binding to it and promoting its dimerization.
