UBAC1 (KPC2) functions as a key subunit of the Kip1 ubiquitination-promoting complex, linking ubiquitin-associated domain recognition to targeted protein turnover—a mechanism central to cell cycle regulation and glial differentiation. This full-length recombinant human UBAC1 (aa 1–405), expressed in *E. coli* with an N-terminal GST tag positioned to preserve the functional UBA domain, demonstrates confirmed binding activity against immobilized CCL5 in a functional ELISA with an EC50 of 86.67–97.25 μg/ml, providing a suitable basis for use as a positive control in enzyme-linked binding assays and for substrate specificity profiling. The validated interaction data also supports inhibitor screening and IC50 determination workflows, as well as kinetic parameter analysis where binding affinity constants need to be established. Purity exceeding 85% by SDS-PAGE meets the quality thresholds commonly required for enzymatic activity assays and specific activity determination, though researchers should note that endotoxin levels have not been tested.
