  • IHC image of CSB-PA001118LA01HU diluted at 1:700 and staining in paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.

  • Immunofluorescent analysis of HepG2 cells using CSB-PA001118LA01HU at dilution of 1:100 and Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L)

  • Immunoprecipitating ACAA2 in A549 whole cell lysate
Lane 1: Rabbit control IgG (1ug) instead of CSB-PA001118LA01HU in A549 whole cell lysate. For western blotting, a HRP-conjugated Protein G antibody was used as the secondary antibody (1/2000)

Description

To yield the ACAA2 polyclonal antibody, the recombinant human ACAA2 protein (188-257aa) is used to immunize a rabbit. The rabbit's immune system will recognize the immunogen as foreign and produce antibodies against it. After several rounds of immunization, blood is collected from the rabbit and the serum is isolated. The ACAA2 polyclonal antibodies are purified from the rabbit's serum using protein G affinity chromatography. The purity of this ACAA2 antibody is over 95%. This ACAA2 antibody can be used to detect human, mouse, and rat ACAA2 proteins in multiple applications, including ELISA, WB, IHC, IF, and IP.

The ACAA2 protein is an enzyme involved in fatty acid metabolism. Its main function is to catalyze the final step in the beta-oxidation of fatty acids. This is a process by which the body breaks down fatty acids for energy production, particularly during periods of fasting or prolonged exercise when glucose levels are low. ACAA2 also plays a role in the regulation of lipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity. Mutations in the ACAA2 gene can lead to metabolic disorders, such as obesity and insulin resistance.

Target Background

Function
In the production of energy from fats, this is one of the enzymes that catalyzes the last step of the mitochondrial beta-oxidation pathway, an aerobic process breaking down fatty acids into acetyl-CoA. Using free coenzyme A/CoA, catalyzes the thiolytic cleavage of medium- to long-chain unbranched 3-oxoacyl-CoAs into acetyl-CoA and a fatty acyl-CoA shortened by two carbon atoms. Also catalyzes the condensation of two acetyl-CoA molecules into acetoacetyl-CoA and could be involved in the production of ketone bodies. Also displays hydrolase activity on various fatty acyl-CoAs. Thereby, could be responsible for the production of acetate in a side reaction to beta-oxidation. Abolishes BNIP3-mediated apoptosis and mitochondrial damage.
