Description

The GDI1 antibody is generated by immunizing rabbits with the synthesized peptide derived from the C-terminal domain of the human GDI1 protein. It is a polyclonal antibody and exists as an unconjugated IgG. It can cross-react with human, mouse, and rat GDI1 protein. And it has undergone affinity purification from rabbit anti-serum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. Quality tests of this antibody in WB and ELISA have been validated. The target protein GDI1, expressed primarily in neural and sensory tissues, is a regulator of the Rab small G proteins implicated in neurotransmission, and mutations of Rab GDIα cause human X-linked mental retardation associated with epileptic seizures.

Function
Regulates the GDP/GTP exchange reaction of most Rab proteins by inhibiting the dissociation of GDP from them, and the subsequent binding of GTP to them. Promotes the dissociation of GDP-bound Rab proteins from the membrane and inhibits their activation. Promotes the dissociation of RAB1A, RAB3A, RAB5A and RAB10 from membranes.
