The polyprotein polyclonal antibody is generated through immunization of a rabbit with the recombinant Cassava brown streak virus polyprotein protein (amino acids 2369-2378). A booster antigen injection is subsequently administered to boost antibody production. Afterward, blood serum containing polyprotein polyclonal antibodies is collected and purified using protein G. Thorough validation through ELISA and WB assays has confirmed the antibody's specific recognition of Cassava brown streak virus polyprotein protein.
The CBSV polyprotein functions as a precursor that, when proteolytically processed, generates multiple functional proteins needed for various aspects of the viral life cycle, including replication, transcription, structural protein synthesis, and the regulation of viral processes.
