Description

The hupB polyclonal antibody is generated by immunizing a rabbit with recombinant Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B hupB protein (1-89aa). This process induces an immune response in the rabbit, stimulating the production of specific antibodies in the rabbit's serum. Afterward, the hupB antibody is purified through affinity chromatography from the rabbit serum, resulting in a highly specific hupB antibody. It shows reactivity with Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B hupB protein and is rigorously validated for its performance in ELISA and WB applications.

The hupB protein in Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B plays a critical role as a DNA-binding protein. It is involved in nucleoid organization and compaction in the bacterial cell. This compaction of the bacterial chromosome is essential for efficient storage of genetic material and gene regulation.
