Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol.
Note: If you have any special requirement for the glycerol content, please remark when you place the order.
If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
3-7 business days
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Description

The cDNA fragment encoding 21-317aa of Escherichia coli O157: H7 Protease 7 (ompT) was fused with an N-terminal 6xHis-SUMO-tag and then expressed in E.coli cells. The product obtained is the Recombinant full-length of mature Mouse Escherichia coli O157: H7 ompT protein. The purity of this protein was assessed by SDS-PAGE electrophoresis and Coomassie blue staining and reached up to 90%. On the reducing SDS-PAGE gel, there presented a molecular mass band of about 53 kDa. The slightly higher result was attributed to glycosylation. This ompT protein was also validated by the LC-MS/MS analysis. In-stock ompT proteins are available now. In addition to acting as an immunogen for specific antibody synthesis, this recombinant ompT protein may be used in the studies of microbiology.

OmpT is an outer membrane protease of E.coli and plays an important role in resistance to host-generated antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). OmpT rapidly cleaves and inactivates AMPs, including LL‐37 and protamine. AMP inactivation mediated by OmpT supports host colonization by some pathogenic E. coli strains.

Target Background

Function
Protease that can cleave T7 RNA polymerase, ferric enterobactin receptor protein (FEP), antimicrobial peptide protamine and other proteins. This protease has a specificity for paired basic residues.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The results indicate that EHEC enhances the secretion of OmpT-loaded outer membrane vesicles in coordination with the activation of virulence genes during infection and blocks bacterial cell attack by LL-37. PMID: 28622430
Subcellular Location
Cell outer membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Protein Families
Peptidase A26 family
