The recombinant Human CALCA protein is made through genetic engineering, also called gene splicing or recombinant DNA technology. By putting Human CALCA genes into the genetic material of the E.coli system. These microorganisms can be used as factories or producers to make proteins for medical, academic and research uses. DNA to be manipulated it must be placed within a “transport vehicle” in which proteins may be produced from the genetic code of the DNA. The host cells used for Human CALCA protein synthesis are E.coli cells, the whole production processes include isolation of CALCA gene, amplification of CALCA gene, cloning, CALCA gene selection, and expression, and the CALCA protein purification, the vector contains N-terminal GST tag in addition to the specific DNA sequence, this facilitates the purification of the recombinant protein and it’s finally detected with a purity of 90%+ by SDS-PAGE.
CALCA, also called α-CGRP, is a modulatory neuropeptide widely distributed in the central and peripheral nervous system, most in cell bodies of the dorsal root ganglion (DRG). It has inotropic and chronotropic effects. Human α-CGRP is involved in the regulation of vascular tone, wound healing, inflammatory responses, nociception, appetite, and gastric emptying. α-CGRP plays a protective role in a variety of cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure, myocardial infarction, and myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (I/R injury). There are currently no reviews for this product.
