Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol. If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Basically, we can dispatch the products out in 3-7 working days after receiving your orders. Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4℃ for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Catalyzes the NAD-dependent decarboxylation of UDP-glucuronic acid to UDP-xylose. Necessary for the biosynthesis of the core tetrasaccharide in glycosaminoglycan biosynthesis.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The persistence of a latent hexamer-building interface in the human enzyme suggests that the ancestral UXS may have been a hexamer. PMID: 25521717
  2. hUXS forms a tetramer in solution that is important for activity. The higher activity of the tetramer coupled with the relative instability of the dimeric complex suggests that an association-dissociation mechanism may regulate hUXS activity. PMID: 23656592
  3. UDP-glucuronate decarboxylase, a key enzyme in proteoglycan synthesis: cloning, characterization, and localization. PMID: 11877387
  4. Complementation was achieved by expression of a cytoplasmic variant of UDP-xylose Synthase, which proves the existence of a functional Golgi UDP-xylose transporter[UDP-xylose Synthase] PMID: 19028698
Subcellular Location
Golgi apparatus, Golgi stack membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein.
Protein Families
NAD(P)-dependent epimerase/dehydratase family, UDP-glucuronic acid decarboxylase subfamily
