Description

The recombinant Mouse Ghrl protein expression involves the transfection of e.coli cells with a DNA expression vector containing the gene encoding the protein of interest (24-117aa). Following transfection, the cells are cultured to induce the expression of the desired protein. The protein is equipped with a N-terminal 6xHis tag. The recombinant Mouse Ghrl protein is collected and purified from the cell lysate through affinity purification, achieving a purity greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Background

Function
Ghrelin is the ligand for growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR). Induces the release of growth hormone from the pituitary. Has an appetite-stimulating effect, induces adiposity and stimulates gastric acid secretion. Involved in growth regulation.; Obestatin may be the ligand for GPR39. May have an appetite-reducing effect resulting in decreased food intake. May reduce gastric emptying activity and jejunal motility.
