Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol.
Note: If you have any special requirement for the glycerol content, please remark when you place the order.
If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
3-7 business days
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

 Q&A
Q:

I recently received a protein from CSB-EP305482MO, and was wondering what buffer it came in. Was it the standard buffer, or was something different used? If different, what were the components?

A:
Very nice to receive your inquiry. The following is the details of this order.
You have no special requirement for buffer when sending your PO, so it is standard buffer. Here is the buffer components: Tris-based buffer, 50% glycerol.
Q:

If it is possible to obtain item CSB-EP305482MO without the tag. Is this a possibility? If so, what would be the price and delivery time.

A:
Very nice to receive your inquiry.
This target protein is too small, only 41 aa. We could try to remove the tag, however, we may fail. Even if the tag removal is successful, the no-tagged protein may be unstable.
We could try to remove the tag using sumo enzyme.
If we succeed in removing the tag, we will charge you for fusion protein production cost and tag removal cost. If we fail in removing the tag, we will only charge you for fusion protein production cost.

Target Background

Function
Exhibits antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative bacteria and Gram-positive bacteria. May act as a ligand for C-C chemokine receptor CCR6. Can bind to mouse (but not human) CCR6 and induce chemotactic activity of CCR6-expressing cells.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The time course of MBD-4 levels in plasma of trauma mice has a similar trend to the HBD-2 levels in plasma of multiple injured patients. MBD-4 expression is induced in liver tissue after multiple trauma. PMID: 28270138
  2. beta-defensin 4 and 14 contribute to the innate and adaptive immune response in their role as chemoattractants PMID: 20483750
  3. Data show that recombinant mBD4:Ig and hBD2:Ig fusion proteins retained potent antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, and that these fusion proteins showed specific binding to CCR6-expressing cells. PMID: 20068036
  4. Murine beta-defensins-1 and -4 were present in newborn skin PMID: 12612195
Subcellular Location
Secreted.
Protein Families
Beta-defensin family
Tissue Specificity
Tongue, esophagus and trachea.
