Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
May be involved in follicular development. Oocyte-specific growth/differentiation factor that stimulates folliculogenesis and granulosa cell (GC) growth.
Gene References into Functions
  1. these data provide evidence that the preovulatory LH surge leads to upregulation of several forms of BMP15 protein secreted by the oocyte for putative sequestration and/or interaction with ovarian follicular somatic cells. PMID: 24548471
  2. Data show that Rac1 induced nuclear import of STAT3 by physical binding, and nuclear STAT3 directly activated the transcription of essential oocyte-specific genes, including Jagged1, GDF9 and BMP15. PMID: 27050391
  3. results support a model of activation for human GDF9 dependent on cumulin formation through heterodimerization with BMP15. Oocyte-secreted cumulin is likely to be a central regulator of fertility in mono-ovular mammals. PMID: 26254468
  4. modified oocyte glycoproteins alter GDF9:BMP15 expression modifying follicle development resulting in the generation of more follicles PMID: 25416550
  5. findings that GDF9:BMP15 heterodimers are the most bioactive ligands in mice and humans compared with homodimers explain many puzzling genetic and physiological data and have important implications for improving female fertility in mammals PMID: 23382188
  6. show that purified mature regions of GDF9 and BMP15 synergistically interact in a specific manner which is not dependent on the presence of a pro-region. PMID: 21911477
  7. Integral role of GDF-9 and BMP-15 in ovarian function. PMID: 21226076
  8. oocyte-derived GDF9 and Bmp15 coordinate to promote the development of cumulus cells E2 and oocyte-derived paracrine factors GDF9 and bone morphogenetic protein 15 coordinate to promote the development of cumulus cells PMID: 21047911
  9. The results showed that both GDF-9 and BMP-15 were detectable in oocytes from primary follicles onward, besides, BMP-15 also presented in granulosa cells (GCs) and follicular follicle of mature follicles in mouse PMID: 20857181
  10. bone morphogenetic protein-15 could play a physiological role in the monotropic rise of FSH secretion by the pituitary during the estrous and menstrual cycle PMID: 12446622
  11. GCNF-dependent repression of Bmp15 mediates gamete regulation of female fertility. PMID: 12912906
  12. Bmp15 has a role in the development and function of the oocyte-cumulus cell complex in mice. PMID: 15531364
  13. Based on the biological role of BMP-15, defects in the production of mouse BMP-15 mature protein could correlate with the high ovulation quota and litter size observed in mice PMID: 15809424
  14. The functional mature form of BMP-15 is barely detectable in mouse oocytes until just before ovulation, when it is markedly increased. PMID: 16818886
  15. BMP15 levels increase during gonadotropin-induced follicular development, in parallel with oocyte maturation PMID: 16943361
  16. oocyte-derived BMP15 and FGFs cooperate to promote glycolysis in cumulus cells. PMID: 17553902
  17. oocyte-derived paracrine factors, particularly, BMP15 and GDF9, promote cholesterol biosynthesis in cumulus cells, probably as compensation for oocyte deficiencies in cholesterol production PMID: 18045843
  18. RT-PCR data shows an increase in oogenesis specific gene transcripts (Nobox, Oct4, Bmp15, Gdf9, Oogenesin1 and Oogenesin2) between the primordial until the preantral stages, with the exception of the Oogenesin1 transcripts under gonadotropin-induction. PMID: 19480014
  19. The highest Bmp15 mRNA levels were detected in oocytes in the pre-antral follicle stage. PMID: 19553355
