Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol. If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
3-7 business days
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Vasoconstrictor.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Follicle rupture and fertility were significantly impaired in the absence of ovarian Edn2 expression. PMID: 28400616
  2. The results demonstrated that long-term hyperglycaemia in conjunction with VEGF-driven retinal neovascularization increased Edn2 serum concentration suggesting Edn2 might be a candidate biomarker for vascular changes in diabetic retinopathy. PMID: 27482904
  3. EDN2 is necessary for normal ovulation and corpus luteum formation. PMID: 24763822
  4. Endothelin-2 signaling in the neural retina promotes the endothelial tip cell state and inhibits angiogenesis. PMID: 24043815
  5. Edn2-mediated mechanisms that contribute to PR survival PMID: 23469133
  6. ET-2 is critical for the growth and survival of postnatal mice and plays important roles in energy homeostasis, thermoregulation, and the maintenance of lung morphology and function. PMID: 23676500
  7. Since endothelin 2 is potently vasoconstrictive and was produced by microglia/macrophages, our data provide what we believe to be a novel link between these cell types and vascular dysfunction in glaucoma. PMID: 21383504
  8. These data indicate that ET-2 is a direct target gene of Hedgehog signaling in basal cell carcinoma. PMID: 19914214
  9. sequence analysis and expression; expression level in adults was approx. 10-fold higher than in the foetus, suggesting involvement in intestinal development PMID: 12193061
  10. ET-2 gene expression gradually increases after parturition PMID: 12372435
  11. Regional differences in central nervous sytem and pituitary gland gene expression noted; Cold injury to the mouse cerebral cortex caused decreased expression PMID: 12507500
  12. expression profile & localization in the intestinal tract; results suggest that in intestinal epithelial cells ET-2 could be secreted into the lamina propria & dome region in Peyer's patch & that it might modulate immune cells for mucosal defense PMID: 16216902
  13. EDN2 induces follicular rupture by constricting periovulatory follicles. PMID: 16410304
  14. These results indicate new three findings, (1) ET-2/VIC expression increases and has potential as a differentiation marker. PMID: 17418814
  15. effect of hypoxia on endothelin-2 mRNA expression in granulosa cells at ovulation PMID: 18516093
