Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Acts as a RAC1 guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) and can induce membrane ruffling. May function as a positive regulator of apoptosis. Functions in cell migration, attachment and cell spreading. Promotes targeting of RAC1 to focal adhesions. Downstream of NMDA receptors and CaMKK-CaMK1 signaling cascade, promotes the formation of spines and synapses in hippocampal neurons.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Phosphorylation of LRRK2 by casein kinase 1alpha regulates trans-Golgi clustering via differential interaction with ARHGEF7. PMID: 25500533
  2. It provides for the first time, to our knowledge, a possible mechanism for the concerted action of tyrosine kinases, GIT1/betaPIX proteins, and Ca(2+) in the propagation of signals leading to the regulation of microtubule nucleation in activated mast cells. PMID: 25821222
  3. beta-Pix controls the spatial localization of Rac1 activity to drive collective AVE migration at a critical stage in mouse development. PMID: 25512563
  4. Therefore, we propose that PKCgamma positively modulates dopamine release through beta2PIX phosphorylation. PMID: 25009260
  5. Glucose stimulates Cav-1 and induces its dissociation from Cdc42, to promote Cdc42-betaPix binding and Cdc42 activation, and to trigger downstream signaling and ultimately sustain insulin release. PMID: 21828338
  6. a model by which SNX27 regulates trafficking of beta-Pix to focal adhesions and thereby influences cell motility. PMID: 21926430
  7. betaPix-b(L) induced pinocytosis through cooperative action of the CH and Dbl homology (DH) domains, demonstrating the role of betaPix-b(L) in the regulation of membrane dynamics PMID: 21249427
  8. Stat3 binds to betaPIX, a Rac1 activator, and regulates Rac1 activity to modulate the organization of actin cytoskeleton and directional migration PMID: 19861492
  9. P85 beta-PIX, located downstream of Rac1, is a key regulator for the activations of FAK or p38 MAP kinase and plays a pivotal role in focal complex formation and cell motility. PMID: 15893751
  10. the regulated phosphorylation of Cool-1 is necessary to maintain the balance between normal signalling by EGFR and Src versus aberrant growth and transformation. PMID: 16892055
  11. These results show that the interaction between Abi-1 and betaPIX is involved in the formation of growth factor-induced membrane dorsal ruffles. PMID: 16940963
  12. Results suggest that the PAK-PIX-GIT1 complex is critical for Erk-dependent myosin phosphorylation and vascular permeability. PMID: 17429073
  13. The association of PLCgamma1 with complexes containing GIT1 and beta-Pix is essential for its role in integrin-mediated cell spreading and motility. As a component of this complex, PLCgamma1 is also involved in the activation of Cdc42 and Rac1. PMID: 17562871
