Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Catalyzes the conversion of (3S)-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA (HMG-CoA) to mevalonic acid, the rate-limiting step in the synthesis of cholesterol and other isoprenoids, thus plays a critical role in cellular cholesterol homeostasis.
Gene References into Functions
  1. This study is aiming to investigate the inhibition role of quercetin on hydroxy methyl glutarate - CoA reductase activity and its gene for attenuating hypercholesterolemia. PMID: 28938515
  2. findings demonstrate for the first time that strain-dependent sex difference in serum Total Cholesterol level between F344 and SD rats is, at least in part, related to difference in the IL-1alpha-mediated HMGR gene expression level in the liver. PMID: 24694611
  3. HMGCR expression is reduced in the liver of rats exposed to simvaglyzin and atorvaglyzin. PMID: 24319730
  4. investigated 3-hydroxy 3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase and LDLr in adult (3-month-old) and aged (12-month-old) male and female rats in four different brain regions PMID: 23280554
  5. These findings indicate a role for TTP in the insulin-mediated activation of hepatic HMGR transcription. PMID: 22405826
  6. beta-ionone may inhibit cell proliferation and modulate HMGCoA reductase during rat hepatocarcinogenesis promotion. PMID: 20435455
  7. correlation between estrogen and HMGR short-term regulation suggests the presence of another mechanism underlying the protective role of estrogen in age-related diseases PMID: 19895880
  8. enhanced cholesterol biosynthesis, observed in experimental chronic renal failure, is at least in part due to increased HMG-CoA reductase gene expression PMID: 12841361
  9. 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase is ubiquinated in permeabilized cells mediated by cytosolic E1 and a putative membrane-bound ubiquitin ligase PMID: 15090540
  10. Upregulation of HMG-CoA reductase by myristic or eicosapentaenoic acid in hepatoma cells is caused by increased translation. PMID: 15337832
  11. These findings support the hypothesis that a different arrangement of the HMG-CoA reductase membrane domain in aged rats is a cause of reductase deregulation. PMID: 15491682
  12. Co-immunoprecipitation studies revealed that the amount of ubiquitin associated with the reductase was entirely dependent upon the amount of microsomal protein subjected to immunoprecipitation PMID: 15919082
  13. Data show that ezetimibe lowers serum cholesterol in animals with low rates of hepatic cholesterol synthesis and produces large compensatory increases in hepatic HMG-CoA reductase expression without affecting expression of hepatic LDL receptors. PMID: 16636304
  14. obtained data represent a good contribution to explain the age-related hypercholesterolemia PMID: 16741953
  15. Deletion of the region containing the cyclic AMP response element (CRE) at -104 to -96 and an NF-Y site at -70 to -65 resulted in marked reduction of promoter activity. PMID: 17327468
  16. Reactive oxygen species effect on the HMG-CoAR dephosphorylation is mediated by the activation of p38/MAPK pathway. PMID: 18031790
  17. Data show that (i) HMG-CoA reductase is crucial for differentiation induction, (ii) p21waf rises downstream of HMG-CoAR activation, (iii) p38/MAPK is key regulator for HMG-CoAR. PMID: 19388010
  18. These data provide in vivo evidence for functional roles for USF-2, SREBP-2, and NF-Y in mediating the T3-induction of hepatic HMGR transcription. PMID: 19470373
