IGLC1, or immunoglobulin lambda constant 1, represents one of the constant region domains found in lambda light chains of human immunoglobulins. As a fundamental component of antibody structure, lambda light chains pair with heavy chains to form functional immunoglobulin molecules, playing essential roles in humoral immunity and antigen recognition. Research into immunoglobulin light chains has significant implications for understanding B cell biology, plasma cell disorders, and the development of therapeutic antibodies.
This recombinant monoclonal antibody, clone 12G10, offers researchers the reproducibility and consistency that sequence-defined production provides. Unlike traditional hybridoma-derived antibodies, recombinant technology ensures that each lot performs identically to the last, eliminating the variability that can compromise longitudinal studies or multi-site collaborations. The antibody was raised in rabbit against a synthesized peptide from human IGLC1 and has been affinity-purified for optimal specificity.
Validation in western blot applications demonstrates reliable detection of human Ig lambda light chain in human plasma lysate at dilutions ranging from 1:500 to 1:2000. The observed band at approximately 25 kDa differs from the predicted 11 kDa molecular weight of the isolated constant region alone, which reflects detection of the intact light chain or light chain-containing complexes under the experimental conditions used. This antibody is also validated for ELISA, providing flexibility across different experimental workflows.
Researchers investigating immunoglobulin biology, B cell development, plasma cell dyscrasias, or those requiring reliable detection of lambda light chains in human samples will find this antibody a dependable tool for their studies.
