Description

Interleukin-13 receptor alpha-2 (IL13RA2) serves as a high-affinity decoy receptor for IL-13, playing a complex role in immune regulation and cancer biology. Unlike the functional IL-13 receptor complex, IL13RA2 lacks signaling capacity and instead modulates IL-13 availability, influencing inflammatory responses and tissue remodeling. Notably, IL13RA2 is overexpressed in several aggressive malignancies, including glioblastoma, where it has emerged as a promising target for CAR-T cell therapies and other immunotherapeutic approaches. Its classification as a cancer/testis antigen further underscores its relevance in tumor immunology research.

This recombinant monoclonal antibody (clone 11G10) offers the reproducibility essential for longitudinal studies and multi-site collaborations. Produced using recombinant technology with a human IgG1 backbone, it provides sequence-defined consistency that eliminates the lot-to-lot variability inherent in traditional hybridoma-derived antibodies, ensuring your experimental conditions remain stable across projects.

Validated for Western blot and ELISA applications, this antibody has been tested in A375 melanoma whole cell lysates, a cell line known for IL13RA2 expression. Western blot analysis reveals a band at approximately 55 kDa, which exceeds the predicted molecular weight of 44 kDa. This size difference is consistent with post-translational glycosylation, a well-documented modification of IL13RA2 that affects receptor trafficking and ligand binding properties. Optimal detection was achieved at 1:500–1:2000 dilution.

Researchers investigating IL-13 signaling pathways, tumor immunology, or developing IL13RA2-targeted therapeutics will find this antibody a reliable tool for characterizing receptor expression in human samples.
