The ACTB monoclonal antibody is created using the synthesized peptide derived from human Beta-Actin (1-50aa) to immunize the mouse, with hybridoma cells being generated by fusing mouse B cells (isolated from the immunized mouse) with myeloma cells. The hybridoma cells that produce the ACTB antibody are then selected and cultured, and the ACTB monoclonal antibody is purified from the mouse ascites using protein G affinity chromatography. This unconjugated IgG1 antibody is highly specific to the ACTB proteins from four species including human, mouse, rat, and rabbit. It can be used in ELISA and WB assays.
ACTB, also known as beta-actin, is a protein that plays a structural role in the cytoskeleton of eukaryotic cells. It is involved in maintaining cell shape, adhesion, and motility, and is also important for intracellular transport and cytokinesis. Additionally, ACTB is involved in gene transcription and chromatin remodeling and has been shown to interact with a variety of proteins involved in signaling pathways and cellular processes.
