Hybridoma technology was used in the production of this V5-Tag monoclonal antibody. The hybridoma was formed from the fusion of B cells and myeloma cells. The B cells were isolated from the spleen of the mouse immunized with the GKPIPNPLLGLDST synthetic peptide conjugate to KLH. Because of the two types of cells, the hybridoma could ensure the continuous production of the V5-Tag monoclonal antibody. This V5-Tag monoclonal antibody is subjected to protein A purification and gets a purity of up to 95%. It has been validated in ELISA, WB, IF, and IP.
The V5 tag is a polypeptide composed of amino acid residues 95 to 108 isolated from the P protein and V protein of the simian virus 5 (SV5). The amino acid sequence: GKPIPNPLLGLDST. Because its small number of amino acids will not affect the properties of the target protein and it has high affinity with specific antibodies, the V5 tag is commonly added to the N- or C-terminus of the target protein to purify, detect, and trace the target protein.
