Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Receptor for apelin receptor early endogenous ligand (APELA) and apelin (APLN) hormones coupled to G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. Plays a key role in early development such as gastrulation, blood vessels formation and heart morphogenesis by acting as a receptor for APELA hormone. May promote angioblast migration toward the embryonic midline, i.e. the position of the future vessel formation, during vasculogenesis. Promotes sinus venosus (SV)-derived endothelial cells migration into the developing heart to promote coronary blood vessel development. Plays also a role in various processes in adults such as regulation of blood vessel formation, blood pressure, heart contractility and heart failure.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Apelin- induced recovery of ERK1/2 phosphorylation and Kappa Opioid receptors -APJ dimerization may nominate apelin as a therapeutic goal in treatment of renovascular hypertension. PMID: 28987634
  2. Apelin receptor and apelin mRNA were significantly increased in the left ventricle following a high fat diet. PMID: 27378063
  3. APJ mRNA levels were similar in placenta and mesometrial triangle at embryonic day 13. In the placenta, APJ expression was increased at E17 versus the E13 level and reduced at E21, whereas in the Meso-tr an opposite modulation was observed. PMID: 26631739
  4. Apelin receptor mRNA and protein expression in the myocardium and aorta of rats with Goldblatt hypertension. PMID: 25708823
  5. results suggested that static pressure up-regulates APJ expression to promote cardiomyocyte hypertrophy by a PI3K-autophagy pathway PMID: 24966188
  6. Data suggest that apelin receptor has role in regulation of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis response in several models of acute stress and has gender-specific function in peripheral immune activation of HPA axis. PMID: 23086141
  7. Reduction in APJ gene expression during renovascular hypertension in a rat model. PMID: 22796316
  8. APJ exhibits nuclear localization in pulmonary epithelium. PMID: 22015267
  9. These findings bring new insights into apelin receptor activation and show that Phe(255) and Trp(259), by interacting with the C-terminal Phe of the pyroglutamyl form of apelin 13 (pE13F) or K17F, are crucial for apelin receptor internalization. PMID: 20675385
  10. Organ specificity of APJ receptor mRNA and distribution of the APJ receptor in rat brain and spinal cord was determined PMID: 12603839
  11. data verify a role for apelin receptors(APJ) in body fluid regulation PMID: 12787050
  12. Acute and repeated stress exert a stimulatory influence on apelin receptor (APJ receptor, APJR) mRNA expression at the hypothalamic level that may be dependent on basal levels of circulating glucocorticoids. PMID: 14622440
  13. results demonstrate that apelin receptor exhibits nuclear localization in brain, distinct cell-dependent mechanisms for the nuclear transport of apelin receptors, and disruption of nuclear signal sequence disrupts its nuclear translocation PMID: 14645236
  14. APJ exerts the hypotensive effect in vivo and plays a counterregulatory role against the pressor action of angiotensin II PMID: 15087458
  15. Hypoxia increased colonic APJ mRNA levels, and apelin treatment during hypoxia exposure enhanced colonic APJ mRNA levels further. In vitro hypoxia also increased apelin and APJ mRNA levels PMID: 18367654
  16. Rats with cirrhosis treated with the apelin receptor antagonist showed diminished hepatic fibrosis and vessel density, improved cardiovascular performance, and renal function and lost ascites PMID: 18816630
