Rat CXCL3 (MIP2-alpha/beta) is a potent ELR⁺ CXC chemokine that drives neutrophil recruitment through CXCR2 signaling, making it a critical tool for dissecting innate immune responses in rat models of inflammation and infection. This tag-free recombinant protein encompasses the full-length mature sequence (residues 33–101) and demonstrates robust chemotactic activity on human CXCR2-transfected BaF3 cells at 5–50 ng/ml, confirming functional engagement of its cognate receptor and supporting use in Transwell migration assays, CXCR2-dependent MAPK and NF-κB signaling studies, and in vivo neutrophil recruitment models. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that would otherwise confound cytokine-specific readouts in sensitive immune cell assays. Purity exceeding 96% by SDS-PAGE, combined with this stringent endotoxin control, provides a suitable basis for applications including ELISA standard curves, antibody validation as a coating antigen or positive control, and functional benchmarking in cell-based activation assays.
