Description

In the generation of the N antibody, a rabbit is immunized with recombinant human coronavirus 229E nucleoprotein (N) (1-389aa), resulting in the production of IgG antibodies by the rabbit's B lymphocytes. The polyclonal N antibody is then subjected to a meticulous purification process using the protein G. This antibody has been tested for its effective binding with the human coronavirus 229E nucleoprotein in ELISA and WB tests.

The human coronavirus 229E nucleoprotein mainly binds and encapsulates the viral RNA, playing a crucial role in the replication and transcription of the viral genome. The nucleoprotein helps protect the viral RNA from degradation and serves as a structural component of the viral ribonucleoprotein complex. Additionally, it interacts with other viral and host factors to facilitate the assembly of new viral particles.

Target Background

Function
Packages the positive strand viral genome RNA into a helical ribonucleocapsid (RNP) and plays a fundamental role during virion assembly through its interactions with the viral genome and membrane protein M. Plays an important role in enhancing the efficiency of subgenomic viral RNA transcription as well as viral replication.
