Description

The fimH antibody CSB-PA362349ZA01ENV is an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody against the fimH protein. It is produced in the rabbit immunized with a partial recombinant protein mapping within amino acids 22-300 of Escherichia coli (strain K12) fimH. And it undergoes protein G purification. It is only reactive with Escherichia coli (strain K12) samples. This fimH antibody has been validated for use in ELISA and WB applications. It is available as the IgG isoform.

The fimH is the adhesion portion of type 1 fimbriae in E. coli. It is an important virulence factor for uropathogenic E. coli where it facilitates urogenital colonization via adhesion to Tamm–Horsfall proteins. Additionally, fimH has been investigated for its role in activating natural killer (NK) cells through TLR4 stimulation.

 Q&A
Q:

I was wondering what secondary antibody is recommended for use alongside fimH Antibody (CSB-PA362349ZA01ENV)?

A:

We would recommend a goat anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody for use with the fimH Antibody (CSB-PA362349ZA01ENV). Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Target Background

Function
Involved in regulation of length and mediation of adhesion of type 1 fimbriae (but not necessary for the production of fimbriae). Adhesin responsible for the binding to D-mannose. It is laterally positioned at intervals in the structure of the type 1 fimbriae. In order to integrate FimH in the fimbriae FimF and FimG are needed.
