Description

The production of the nlpD polyclonal antibody is a carefully orchestrated process. It commences with the repeated immunization of a rabbit using recombinant Escherichia coli nlpD protein (26-379aa), with immunizations continuing until the desired antibody titer is reached. Subsequently, the rabbit's blood is collected, and the antibodies are meticulously purified from the serum using protein A/G. The resulting nlpD antibody has been extensively evaluated through ELISA and WB applications, confirming its specific binding with the Escherichia coli nlpD protein.

E. coli nlpD is an outer membrane (OM) lipoprotein that activates AmiC and plays a role in outer membrane invagination during division. nlpD is involved in the cleavage of peptidoglycan, the rigid outer layer of the bacterial cell wall. By contributing to cell wall hydrolysis and cell division, nlpD helps maintain the characteristic shape of E. coli cells.
