Activin A plays a central role in TGF-β superfamily signaling, regulating processes from mesoderm induction to immune cell differentiation. This tag-free recombinant human INHBA homodimer, covering the full mature protein (aa 311–426), demonstrates strong receptor-binding potency with an ED50 of 1.3 ng/mL in a SMAD signaling reporter assay using 293-Activin A Res cells—a level of bioactivity that supports use in stem cell differentiation studies, cell proliferation and survival assays, and receptor-ligand binding experiments such as SPR or competition ELISA. Mammalian cell expression preserves native disulfide bonding and glycosylation critical for proper dimerization and receptor engagement, making this preparation appropriate for in vivo tumor biology models and antibody characterization workflows. Purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE combined with endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfies the criteria typical for sensitive cell-based assays and in vivo applications where contamination artifacts must be minimized.
