The KRT19 monoclonal antibody generation initiates with the immunization of mice with a synthesized peptide derived from human KRT19. After that, B cells are isolated from the spleens of immunized mice and then fused with myeloma cells to form hybridomas. The hybridomas produced are screened for the cell lines that secrete KRT19 antibodies. The selected hybridomas are inoculated into the mouse abdominal cavity, and the KRT19 monoclonal antibodies are purified from mouse ascites by affinity chromatography using a specific immunogen. The KRT19 monoclonal antibody can recognize human KRT19 protein in ELISA and IHC applications, enabling specific detection and localization of the protein in tissues and cells.
KRT19 is a type I intermediate filament protein expressed in epithelial cells, including those of the liver, pancreas, colon, and breast, as well as in some non-epithelial cells such as mesothelial and endothelial cells. KRT19 plays a role in maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial cells and is involved in cell signaling pathways, cell migration, and apoptosis. It has also been implicated in the pathogenesis of certain diseases, such as cancer and liver disease.
