Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Basically, we can dispatch the products out in 5-10 working days after receiving your orders. Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Description

Recombinant Human INHBC is a full-length mature protein produced in mammalian cells, consisting of the 19-352aa expression region of the Inhibin beta C chain (Activin beta-C chain). This protein plays a critical role in signal transduction research and comes with a C-terminal 6xHis-tag. The purity of INHBC is greater than 95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE, and it has an endotoxin level of less than 1.0 EU/µg, as verified by the LAL method. Its activity is demonstrated by the ED50, which is determined by its ability to bind Human Activin RIIA in a functional ELISA at less than 15 ug/ml. The lyophilized powder format enables easy handling and storage for diverse research purposes.

Target Background

Function
Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland. Inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of diverse functions such as hypothalamic and pituitary hormone secretion, gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development or bone growth, depending on their subunit composition. Inhibins appear to oppose the functions of activins.

  2. The inhibin-betaC subunit is down-regulated, while inhibin-betaE is up-regulated by interferon-beta1a in Ishikawa carcinoma cell line. PMID: 23580013
