Description

CUSABIO generated the Rabies virus G antibody through immunization of rabbits with the recombinant Rabies virus Glycoprotein protein (20-459AA) and final purification from rabbit antiserum by protein G. This Rabies virus G antibody is a polyclonal antibody and exists as a FITC-conjugated IgG. It can react with Rabies virus samples. Its purity is over 95%. And it is suitable for the detection of the Rabies virus G protein in the ELISA. The target protein Rabies virus G is responsible for the binding of the virus to the target cells and the fusion between viral and cell membranes during the endocytosis of the virus.

Target Background

Function
Attaches the virus to host cellular receptor, inducing endocytosis of the virion. In the endosome, the acidic pH induces conformational changes in the glycoprotein trimer, which trigger fusion between virus and cell membrane. There is convincing in vitro evidence that the muscular form of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR), the neuronal cell adhesion molecule (NCAM), and the p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR) bind glycoprotein and thereby facilitate rabies virus entry into cells.
Subcellular Location
Virion membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
Protein Families
Lyssavirus glycoprotein family
