Description

Immunization of a rabbit with recombinant Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B ihfA protein (647-964aa) induces an immune response in the rabbit, leading to the generation of specific antibodies within the rabbit's serum. The ihfA antibody is subsequently purified via affinity chromatography from the anti-serum, resulting in a highly specific ihfA antibody. This ihfA antibody exhibits reactivity with Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B ihfA protein and is thoroughly validated for its functionality in both ELISA and WB applications.

The ihfA protein is a constituent of Integration Host Factor (IHF), a small heterodimeric protein known for its specific DNA binding and architectural roles in various prokaryotic cellular processes. IHF assists in many processes that involve higher order protein–DNA complexes, including in replication and transcriptional regulation, as well as in a variety of site-specific recombination systems.
