Description

To generate the nfuA polyclonal antibody, a rabbit is initially immunized with recombinant E.coli nfuA protein (amino acids 31-128). Subsequently, a booster antigen injection is administered to the rabbit to stimulate the production of a substantial quantity of antibodies specifically targeting the antigen. Blood serum containing the nfuA polyclonal antibodies is then collected and subjected to affinity chromatography purification. The purified nfuA antibody is rigorously tested through ELISA and WB assays to confirm its specific recognition of E.coli nfuA protein.

E. coli nfuA is a key player in maintaining the proper functioning of Fe-S cluster-containing proteins by facilitating Fe-S cluster biogenesis, maturation, and repair. This is crucial for various cellular processes, including energy metabolism, DNA repair, and the overall health and survival of the bacterium.

Target Background

Function
Involved in iron-sulfur cluster biogenesis. Binds a 4Fe-4S cluster, can transfer this cluster to apoproteins, and thereby intervenes in the maturation of Fe/S proteins. Could also act as a scaffold/chaperone for damaged Fe/S proteins.
