Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol.
Note: If you have any special requirement for the glycerol content, please remark when you place the order.
If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
3-7 business days
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Description

Recombinant E.coli K12 ompF protein is an E.coli-expressed protein (Full Length of Mature Protein). Molecularly, this ompF protein is characterized by N-terminal 10xHis tag and C-terminal Myc tag, internal E.coli K12 ompF DNA fragment (23-362aa). Standard methods for recombinant ompF protein expression comprise transfecting cells with DNA vectors that consist of specific templates and then cultures cells to translate and transcribe the ompF protein production process. Typically, these cells are lysed to extract expressed proteins for more purification. The purity of this recombinant ompF protein is 85%+ measured by SDS-PAGE.

The porin ompF is a trimeric integral membrane protein that contributes to the passive diffusion of small hydrophilic molecules, such as nutrients, antibiotics, and toxic salts, across the outer membrane (OM) of E.coli. ompF is expressed in response to environmental changes such as temperature, osmolarity, nutrients availability, and toxic compounds through transcriptional and post-transcriptional modulation-involved signaling pathways. Group A colicins insert the translocation and active domains via ompF pores, allowing for the exertion of their cytotoxic action. Colicin N uses ompF both as receptor and translocator for its import.

 Q&A
Q:

I would like the following protein CSB-EP365808ENV and want to know the following:
I would like to know if it is possible to request for a specific tag.
I intend to perform gold-labelling using NiNTA-tagged gold beads, hence my interest to have a polyHis tag on OmpF.
Can we also chose if the tagging is C or N terminal ?

A:
Thanks for your inquiry.
The tag of CSB-EP365808ENV is N-terminal 10xHis-tagged and C-terminal Myc-tagged, it contains polyHis at the N-terminal but it also contains Myc-tag at the C-termina,
Can you accept C-terminal tag or only needs the tag at the N-terminal or C-terminal ?
Please clearly list the tag if you have specified tag, we can try to prepare the protein according to your demand, but it's 100% guaranteed.

Target Background

Function
Forms pores that allow passive diffusion of small molecules across the outer membrane.; (Microbial infection) It is also a receptor for the bacteriophage T2. Is the major receptor for colicin E5.; (Microbial infection) A mixed OmpC-OmpF heterotrimer is the outer membrane receptor for toxin CdiA-EC536; polymorphisms in extracellular loops 4 and 5 of OmpC confer susceptibility to CdiA-EC536-mediated toxicity.
