Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description

MICA functions as a stress-induced ligand for the activating receptor NKG2D on natural killer cells and CD8+ T cells, making it a critical node in immune surveillance and tumor immunology. This mammalian-expressed construct spanning residues 24–309 captures the complete extracellular domain, preserving the native glycosylation and disulfide architecture required for physiological NKG2D engagement. Functional ELISA validation demonstrates specific antibody binding with an EC50 of 0.69–0.92 ng/mL, confirming conformational integrity suitable for therapeutic antibody epitope mapping, competitive inhibition screening of NKG2D-blocking biologics, and ligand-receptor interaction studies by surface plasmon resonance or biolayer interferometry. The protein meets the purity (>95% by SDS-PAGE) and endotoxin (<1.0 EU/μg) thresholds commonly required for cell-based assays investigating MICA shedding mechanisms, tumor immune evasion pathways, and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity in NK cell activation models.
